Agrippa lived and worked in Switzerland for only a few years, but he was in Basel--a hot bed of printing and alchemy.

Court de Gébelin, a Swiss Protestant pastor and occultist, initiated the public movement to interpret the Tarot as a repository of timeless esoteric wisdom.

Wirth was the first to create an occult Tarot. His Major Arcana were based on Levi, used to illustrate Papus, and owned by Crowley.
