I used the Ancestral Path deck (not a Rider Waite clone). I ended
up with 23 cards.
- Tower of the Sea--Represents your true voice:
what you are really saying within.
- Quote from meditation: "I'm tired of kissing
everybody's ass!" I exclaim. "It's *MY* life and it's time for me
to use my energies for what *I* want to accomplish, before it's
too late!"
- Drew: Seven of Swords--My neighbor, who steals my piece
of mind (Oops, was that a Freudian slip, or what?) whose ass I got
tired of kissing.
- Major: Chariot--directed energy and independent action
- Minor: Prince of Swords--In the Ancestral Path, this
card features a samurai with a huge silver crescent on his helmet.
He appears restfully contemplative, but prepared to strike. What
is that dagon thing on his head?
-
- Tower of Hospitality--Represents the joy of your
childhood: what you need to regain now.
- Quote from meditation: "You probably think it's hard to
be the only girl in a tower full of boys, but it's really fun."
(Also applies to being American in Switzerland, to a lesser
degree.)
- Drew: Tower--creative "lightning flash" of
inspiration, super-natural gifts and adversities (or 'super,
natural' or 'super/natural'???)
- Major: Star--One of my fondest childhood memories is
believing that the sound of the cicadas was the sound of the stars
twinkling. I think my aunt told me that. Magic. Super. Natural.
- Minor: Ten of Sacred Circles--This card epitomizes the
tribal-like hospitality and family life I have in the U.S. Like a
warm night on the porch after dinner at Aunt Irma's. Super
natural.
-
- Tower of Riches--Represents the sum of your life's
insights: what is most true for you.
- Quote from meditation: If he's not going to talk, I
feel I shouldn't either. (Words can't communicate it, only
experience can teach it.)
- Drew: Queen of Swords--Figure it out for yourself.
- Major: Justice--Truth and Right.
- Minor: Five of Swords--Training
-
- Tower of Trees--Represents your destiny: your true
direction.
- Quote from meditation: "It was crafted by the Master.
It's quite valuable. Do you think you can afford it?. . . Let's
have a look at it in the light." . . . "Every man and every woman
is a Star."
- Drew: Two of Swords--Which Way do I go?
- Major: The World--Every way . . . All is One . . .
- Minor: Three of Cups--. . . in harmony, without
collisions . . . One is All.
-
- Tower of the Four Corners--Represents your lost
opportunities.
- Quote from meditation: I look through the other door
and see my man opening his arms to me. I automatically step
through . . .
- Drew: The Lovers--'nuff said.
- Major: The Lovers--It could only be. For both Love and
Choice.
- Minor: Here's where I couldn't make a choice:
- Eight of Cups--leaving the cups and setting out for the remote
stones
- Two of Staves--friends part ways, as each follows their own
adventure
- Eight of Swords--she has only one available path to walk
- Two of Sacred Circles--change is good, don't linger in the
hallway, cultivate the things that make stepping through the right
door automatic
-
- Tower of Carousel--Represents your childhood or inner
friend: your creative instinct.
- Quote from meditation: "Now I know why Mushy Bear means
so much to me."
- Drew: Prince of Sacred Circles--Mushy Bear
- Major: Death--Dracula's daughters
- Minor: Queen of Cups--The "Princess" fairy tales and
fantasies of my youth, some of which have become real!
-
- Tower of Glass--Represents the key to initiation: the
challenge which faces you next.
- Quote from meditation: It lands on the beach in fine
granules, like sparkly silver sand. And lying there in the middle
of it all is a golden key.
- Drew: Six of Sacred Circles--Give. Take.
- Major: Temperance--The beach is a liminal
space--between land and sea. Temperance has one foot on land, one
in the water. Also, tempering/mixing the silver and gold.
- Minor: Six of Swords--I'm not sure why I picked this
card originally. But the meditating monk pictured looks like he
would know that one doesn't *need* to climb the mountain, or
battle the current, when the key is downstream on the beach. (See
further explanation.)
