New Moon in Libra--October 22, 2006
Cut it out!
This card pictures a pair of sewing scissors, but I'm thinking pruning shears. In our own lives, we need to prune the unfruitful and unproductive aspects--botanical, mental, spiritual, physical, technological {!}, etc.--for a healthier and freer journey through our days.
Julie's book tells the story of the creation of Br'er Wolf, the predatory agent of natural selection. But (being a Sword card and all) we must go beyond instinct and implement our reasoning and creative powers. I think it's not too hard to spot the weakest caribou or driest bough; but in this age, our lives can easily become complicated and cluttered, dragging us into stagnation. Through decision-making ("discernment"?), we can use the gift of human intelligence and lighten our load. It makes it so much easier to travel!
Hone those skills.
